Professional-grade recording studio for students and musicians
In our mission of serving the pianists of South Jersey, we discovered a number of years ago that there are very few studios in the region with quality, high-end pianos. So we decided to build a recording studio at our shop in Pilesgrove that could serve the needs of serious pianists in South Jersey.
Yamaha C7, the most recorded piano model in the world, and the exclusive choice of thousands of top recording artists, was the model we selected for our studio. It is a magnificent instrument, 7'6" in length and a warmth and fullness of tone that is mesmerizing. While it was a great instrument to begin with, we upgraded it further by changing out the hammers with Abel Natural felt hammers, spending dozens of hours fine-tuning the regulation and voicing, and making a number of other smaller repairs and upgrades in the action.
Since our recording studio was built exclusively for the purpose of recording this piano, we accept sessions only with pianists. Other instruments can potentially be recorded as well, but space is limited and possibilities are discussed on a case-by-case basis. We are particularly excited to help students and young professionals record audition materials and other demo work, and this was a primary impetus in the construction of our studio.
